it’s like super fucked up that a teenage boy who wears makeup for a living has become the target of ceaseless, aggressive, widespread harassment, and everybody pretends it’s completely justified (as if literally anything “problematic" a literal child could have said or done would warrant this endless barrage of concentrated hate) and not just the socially sanctioned opportunity to bully the fuck out of an effeminate gay kid that it so obviously is

leave james charles alone you ghouls

hey i know it’s probably super important for like your own feeling of moral righteousness to feel like people should leave james charles alone but as a white person you have no right to determine when people of colour need to stop criticizing him when he made a horrific racist comment, followed by, in my opinion, a woefully unsatisfying apology video (not to mention trying to vilify ariana grande for unfollowing him on twitter in response to his racist ebola comment, months after he posted that apology video, while collaborating with a youtuber widely known for having a graphically racist past)

consider taking white twinks off a pedestal and understanding that male gender nonconformity has been performed publicly by men of colour for decades and sometimes when someone gets made fun of or called out they like just deserve it

not to mention how he’s like unapologetically mainstreamed and profited off of black and more specifically black lgbt culture considering aave makes up like a solid half of his “brand”

Not to mention a white man getting rightfully criticized for being racist is not “aggressive ceaseless harrassment” and it’s interesting how these criticisms are being described as that when Black and brown LGBT people are the main ones being vocal about their criticisms but you know whiteness has an egregious way of painting people of color as aggressive for daring to voice an opinion against a white person of any sort of marginalization 🤷🏾‍♀️

Consider: y’all are fucking demons and he said that shit years ago and has since apologized.

If you want something that actually matters to be mad about, Russia is still killing gays in concentration camps, America’s government is still shut down and people and folks living in poverty are not going to receive their February food stamps, and the Brazilian President is killing off Indigenous Tribes. If you’re going to bitch at least try to channel it to save some actual lives.

I like the implications here that racism is not as important as these world issues you’re citing that you probably don’t care about outside of deflecting, like it really drives home how little white gays actually care about LGBT people of color.

James Charles is 19, he’s grown. He’s not some innocent child being lambasted over something trivial. On top of the Ebola comments and trying to take down a woman for being “rude” to him,

he also collabs with Jeffree Star aka giant racist misogynistic piece of shit,

he’s friends with Shane Dawson who is also racist ableist and has a very long history with us in Blackface for laughs,

he himself did darker foundation and photo editing which made him look unequivocally brown but claims it was because it was a DSLR studio image (which is absolute bullshit and makes 0 sense)

And instead of ever apologizing he just continued to put women of color on blast, didn’t bother covering up their handles despite any reasonable person knowing they would get harassed just for criticizing him

And like even on this “he’s a young effeminate gay boy who does makeup for a living” like, cool? There are dozens of Black boys and men who have tried to bud into that as well but can’t because white MUAs take up so much space.

James has been caught multiple times using post-editing to make his shots look better and more put together, using FaceTune to adjust errors in foundation and etc. like he’s really Not that special despite some companies deciding he was. He arguably has a lot more skills to learn but isn’t being pushed to donsl because he’s still famous where he is right now.

And on top of that, he still participated in the same anti-Black emulation of Black women that so many white gays think they’re entitled to. Flippantly using AAVE to be cute or ~sassy~ is still a problem.

Black people have every right to not excuse these things or just let them pass bc 1 shitty apology was posted to cover his ass. And ppl aren’t obligated to like him when he’s really mediocre on the scale of MUA talent across YouTube and Instagram, he’s not revolutionizing the industry by any means and being young white and gay is hardly unique in he makeup industry. Being the new CoverGirl was his only real Moment.

But like lol anyone who is okay with calling ppl of color / Black people demons is probably too stupid to understand any of this bc apparently only white gays matter now but like! What’s new scooby doo.

hello??

hiija:

me: lol actually people shouldn’t have to be ‘useful’ to society in order to receive food & shelter; food & shelter should literally be 100% free for every single person, without exception. this isn’t a new or difficult concept.

every dumb bitch who loves working their life away in a system that is literally designed to keep them working their life away, about to defend that system:
